Guidelines for Mental Health Promotion with Black and Minority Ethnic
Communities. Compiled by mentality,
the first national charity dedicated solely to the promotion of mental
health.
Although there is a growing literature on improving the delivery of
mental health services for black and minority communities, there is
currently very little information on the mental health promotion needs
of different ethnic groups. In particular, there is no national guidance
on promoting mental health for black and minority ethnic groups, little
data on evidence of effectiveness and no easily accessible source of
examples of good practice.
mentality's leading publications will be a series of briefings papers,
that will start with Making It Effective and Not All in the Mind. This
series will be expanded upon regularly.
Please contact Sarah
Murrary for further informatino about the following publications:

based on qualitative research with service users, looks at user perspectives
on all aspects of physical health, from exercise to smoking cessation.
